Continued development with RCSI

This month the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) have launched a new landing page, to honour Sir Charles A. Cameron on the centenary of his death. Sir Charles A. Cameron was a tireless population health campaigner for the city of Dublin and its people. His discoveries, research, publications and campaigning led to improved public health during a particularly difficult period in the history of the city. Owing to his ceaseless efforts and flair for inspired insight, the death rate in Dublin between 1901 and 1911 was reduced by a quarter.

When creating the honorary page for Sir Charles A. Cameron, Arekibo has helped RCSI to prepare the content and imagery needed for the page. This collaboration has helped the RCSI digital and Library team to create the landing page very quickly.

Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland is the world-leading international health sciences university and research institution offering education and training. RCSI wants to do things properly and continually invest in its future. When it comes to delivering a new online presence upon Sitecore, RCSI desired best in class and are investing in digital to help them to realise their strategic goals. They had reached the end point on their existing technology and wanted to move to the next level.

The work commenced in May 2017 when Arekibo presented a vision for how we would like to deliver RCSI's 'digital' mission. The project took 3 years to complete and we jointly delivered a full program of work where we essentially became a single team working through an agile process of design, develop and testing. After the first year of work RCSI Dublin, RCSI Bahrain was live. This was followed by the Leadership, Research & Innovation and Surgical Affairs websites. In July 2020 RCSI.com, an overall parent site, went live which consolidated all of our previous work.

Our long-term partnership with RCSI working on this and other projects has won awards, including the “digital for good” award at the Spiders in 2019.
