Introduction

Electric Ireland is Ireland's leading energy supplier, servicing residential and business customers.

Our relationship with Electric Ireland began in 2011 to launch their brand with a dedicated website. Since then, we have collaborated to develop and enhance their online presence.

At the heart of our collaboration, we focused on planning and developing digital services and capabilities to help customers access and manage their electricity and gas consumption. The goal is to build a true digital, transparent, intelligent, and customer-first relationship.

We augment Electric Ireland’s teams by providing expertise across key areas, including technical architecture, specialist Sitefinity skills, and design system development and management. This partnership ensures the platform remains scalable, robust, and aligned with their evolving business needs. Our support enables Electric Ireland to deliver seamless digital experiences while maintaining the highest performance, usability, and innovation standards.

Customer First

We led the creation of the new Electric Ireland website and Business and Residential Customer Service Portal. We supported the customer engagement strategy to understand and define how the website could best support existing customers and attract new customers. The website would help existing customers access information and services while recruiting new customers to 'switch' online to Electric Ireland.'

The Electric Ireland website won the Universal Design Award at the 2015 Irish Internet Awards, recognised by the National Disability Authority and the Centre for Excellence in Universal Design as the outstanding best-in-class winner in universal and accessible design.

The redesign completed in 2024 has maintained these standards and compliance.

Customer Insights

Data now informs Electric Ireland's ability to plan and deliver new and enhanced digital services.

We delivered an analytics strategy to enable Electric Ireland to measure and understand how its customers use its digital services. A core objective was to harness data to improve and optimise the user experience. Electric Ireland can now measure all interactions, events, and transactions across all business and residential customers.

In addition to tracking and analysing the customer journey, Electric Ireland's analytics strategy also provided the organisation with new business cases and opportunities to deliver more value to its customers.

Enterprise Platform

Managing its digital presence independently of agencies or internal IT was critical for the business's marketing and communication ambitions.

Our strategy and technology team advised and supported Electric Ireland in assessing and selecting an enterprise digital experience platform. Progress Sitefinity was selected. We collaborated with Electric Ireland's business and information technology teams to deploy and develop the new online presence on the DXP. Since 2015, Sitefinity has provided Electric Ireland with the capabilities and features to manage and grow its digital presence.
